I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I received my BA in Philosophy from The University of the South, then moved to Paris to complete an MA in French Civilization and Culture from Middlebury College. I attended anthropology fieldwork school in Morocco and taught French in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Santa Barbara for my PhD in Education. There I focused on research methodologies, including ethnography and psychometrics.

Outside of work, my hobbies include enjoying classic science fiction, cooking vegan food, playing guitar and bass, and enjoying all the outdoor activities that California has to offer.
